The Windsor School and Windsor Learning Center has two state programs for classified students, making a difference in alternative education for students who have Attention Deficit Disorder and behavioral concerns. Academic achievement, community service, athletics, advanced computer technology, and mainstreaming are realities for Windsor students. With two locations in Pompton Lakes, servicing more than 160 students from kindergarten through eight grade.

The Windsor School and Windsor Learning Center programs feature a strong structured behavior modification system, counseling and parental communications to provide quality education and build academic achievement and self-esteem in children with a history of failure and conflict in school.

We believe any child, despite their present behavior and social background, wants acceptance, achievement, knowledge and the ability to interact well with others. Our challenge is finding the key that unlocks the individual potential of each student in a warm, nurturing environment that allows their potential to flourish.

Each student has behaved in ways that prohibited them from functioning in the public schools. Through a persistent system of positive reinforcement, The Windsor School and Windsor Learning Center can reach our primary goal: the improvement of the educational and social functioning of each student with successful reintegration into the public schools as the ultimate objective.

Leading edge technology is apparent at The Windsor School and Windsor Learning Center. Computers in classrooms and labs have Internet access. A state of the art network connects all computers and wireless laptop computers.  Additionally all students utilize alpha smart word processors to further enhance their critical writing skills. All teachers receive in-service training in computer education. Windsor also has computer specialists tutoring each child as part of their program.

Inclusion is our mission! Many Windsor students are returning to their home school district and performing well. Behavior modification is achieved by stressing the rewards of academic diligence and good conduct via a student ranking system with graduated privileges including athletic, other extracurricular, and community service activities.

Our counseling program features group and small group sessions for personal problem solving and building self-esteem. In group counseling sessions, students learn the value of team work, respect for others and the achievement of reaching a common goal. Social skills are constantly reinforced. The Windsor School and Windsor Learning Center features community service activities fostering and strengthening self-esteem and confidence.

A consistent approach, individualized academics, positive reinforcement, and a supportive nurturing environment allows for our students to reintegrate into the public school system successfully.
